Hikers Wear Orange – Fall Hunting Season Info

The fall hunting season has begun, so HIKERS SHOULD WEAR ORANGE OR OTHER BRIGHT COLORED CLOTHING while hiking.

Also, don’t forget about your furry friends – putting something orange on them is also a good idea.

A large portion of Standing Cedars was paid for with money from the Wisconsin Stewardship program. An agreement with this grant is that we allow hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and hunting (by Standing Cedars permit).

The hunting seasons start in mid-September, and go until the first weekend in January.

The youth gun hunt season is the weekend of October 11 and 12, we will have 2 youth hunters at Engelwood. Hikers should WEAR ORANGE and avoid the middle and northern sections of Engelwood October 11 and 12.

The regular deer gun season starts Nov 22, and no hiking advised during the deer gun season.

There will be a deer carcass dumpster at the south Englewood Parking lot this fall. The CWD Kiosk will be located in the parking lot at Federated Co-op just south of Osceola.
